In collaboration with our retail partner Crown and Compass, this limited edition of Tsuba pays tribute to the Suhail star, the second brightest star in the sky, deeply embedded in Arab astronomy due to its historical importance for navigation. For centuries ancient cultures have used the stars as a compass, with the astrolabe reflecting the scientific advancement of the Arab lands during the Islamic Golden Age.

Tsuba Suhail

Suhail became a symbol of celestial navigation and hope for desert cultures as its appearance marked the transition from peak summer heat to cooler temperatures. Suhail has become a cultural icon appearing in Arab poetry, folklore, and proverbs symbolising revival of the land and renewal.

Suhail appears golden due to its low altitude and has served as a reliable compass for travellers navigating the desert for centuries. The Crown and Compass edition with its red gold dial visibly mirrors the landscape with the circular grain representing the movement of the stars.
